Guide

Welcome to the White Raven ultimate guide on how to rock and maintain your Synthetic Dreadlocks with confidence and style.

How Many Do I Need?

Wondering how many dreads you need for that full head look? It's around 40-60 dreads, depending on your desired volume. For a high volume look, I use 60 regular sized double-ended dreads. Feel free to customize your blend with whatever size you like best, but remember, any more than 60 may be to heavy and strain your neck! I recommend If you're aiming for a full head, grab 9-12 packs of dreads. But if you're all about that partial dread life, 2-8 packs will do the trick.

    Length Matters

Before you dive in, make sure your hair is at least 2.8 inches (7 cm) long for optimal installation of synthetic dreadlocks.

      Worried about damaging your hair?

Don’t worry, synthetic dreads are a safe and stylish choice. They are not harmful to your natural hair. Change up your look with confidence, knowing you can rock these locks without compromising your hair's health.

        Can I wash my hair?

Yes, you can wash your synthetic dreadlocks while wearing them. Use your regular shampoo for a fresh cleanse, but steer clear of conditioner. Avoiding conditioner prevents product buildup on your scalp, ensuring your locks remain radiant and voluminous. When your not wearing them just wash them with shampoo and water then rinse the dreads in the sink a couple times and hang to dry. And if you can wash them while there in you can most certainly swim with them in!

How long do they stay in?

You can keep those synthetic dreadlocks in for about 2-3 months. If you decide to push it past the 3-month mark, brace yourself – your regrowth will tangle, and it won't be easy to detangle. The beauty of Synthetic Dreadlocks is their reusability. Use them over and over again and embrace the vibrant styles you can create with ease.

            Color Your World!

The best part? Choose any color you love, and it'll work with your natural hair. Transform your style effortlessly without causing harm – it's color creativity at its finest.

            Installation Choices

Want to DIY? Go for it! You can braid your synthetic dreads in yourself using elastics or thread. The best elastics I have found are ElasticU and can be purchased on Amazon. Or Sallys has packs you can purchase that seem to break less than other options out there. Not a DIY person? Enlist a friend or even a local hairstylist for the job.

#1 split your hair, wrap with one strand then twist the two strands and wrap the dread with the second strand. Repeat until your out of hair and secure the ends with an elastic or thread.

#2 split your hair, use the dread as the third strand, braid it down, and tie it off.
